BET’s Sunday Best finalists were named tonight. It was stiff competition with the final four but at the end of the night, Tasha Page Lockhart and Kefia Rollerson were named as BET’s Sunday Best finalists.
The show opened with Kim Burrell singing her new song, “Don’t Count Me Out,” which got a huge positive response on social media. Lexi closed the performances with her hit, “Abide.”
Keifa Rollerson sung Mary Mary‘s Heaven. Rollerson did a great job with a song sung by the duo. She handled it well. Donnie McClurkin said “you add life to everything you do.” CeCe Winans said, “I think you are getting better and better.”
Tasha Page Lockhart sang Michael W. Smith‘s song, “Open the Eyes of My Heart.” She took everyone to church with the song. She got a standing ovation. Yolanda Adams told her that she showed, “the cool side of God” with her passion and fashion sense. Cece Winans said, “Sunday Best is bout being ready to give God praise” and that Lockhart did that. She also told her she had been the most consistent of all the contestants.
Departing contestants Tyler Little sang “Jesus Is Real” and Venold Johnson sang “I Have No Other Choice.” It’s certain we’ll see these two great singers again in the world of gospel music.
BET’s Sunday Best finalists will return next week and voting will begin at that time. The winner will receive a brand new Ford Fusion, a national recording contract with Fo Yo Soul /RCA Records, a cash prize and the title of “Sunday Best.”
